Very long but interesting post. It brings up a question though: is it proper for a writer to use superhero comics to push a political agenda? Can a writer insert his own political beliefs into a superhero work without it coming off as a political wonk on a soapbox? When you buy a comic book, are you paying for a political preaching to?? You know how some people in Hollywood can't seem to get it through their heads that we don't care what they think politically, we just want to be entertained? Do some comic writers need to learn that we don't want to be preached to, just given our $3 worth of entertainment?

Thanks for the referral - off to read the long post - so far it looks good - but GL wasn't a racist.
